Village Idiot #26
36 hours in London, and it feels more like a week. A minor footslogging odyssey, hugging either side of the river. Breathing in the fumes of bendy buses, loafing around the architecture and design sections of half-dozen bookshops, and resting up in Concrete, the new cafe-bar at the Hayward. The sense of time stretching, shape-shifting, continues to define this spring-summer period. A friday early afternoon in at the house soundtracked by Love or Die, the latest release from Sasumu Yakota. Body craving sugars so I'm off across the road to The Village Bakery in search of the sometimes elusive Chicken Jalfrezi, the culinary delight of Patcham Vasey.
